Immigration Evaluations

WHY IMMIGRATION EVALUATIONS?

My private practice emphasizes building self-esteem, increasing self-love and creating inner peace, one thought at a time. Life experiences shape the way we see ourselves and the world. Immigration issues are a life experience that can stressful, and affect your wellbeing, mental health, and self-esteem. As a daughter of an immigrant, I know first hand how immigration issues can change lives and wreak havoc on families.

Besides my personal experience, I began writing Immigration Evaluations due to my passion for keeping families together,  keeping individuals safe and protected from fear of persecution; and helping people feel free from a life of abuse. More importantly, to help them feel calmer about their immigration process.

Immigration Evaluations give the Court a chance to look inside the window into the your life, that they may not see otherwise.

EVALUATIONS FOR WHICH CASES?

  • Asylum Cases–Explaining psychological reasons why a client missed the one-year filing deadline; and detailing how PTSD symptoms provide evidence of the persecution they suffered.

  • Extreme Hardship Cases–Identifying unique factors contributing to a client’s psychological distress such as: illness; disability; professional, financial, or academic hardship; or adverse home-country conditions that would affect the petitioner or their family members.

  • Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Cases–Detailing the client’s psychological symptoms which are common for domestic violence victims; assessing credibility; and where useful, explaining less common phenomena such as ways in which men are abused by female partners.

WHAT DO THE EVALUATIONS INCLUDE?
  • Psychosocial History
  • Psychological Symptoms
  • Diagnosis, if relevant
  • Consequences of deportation
  • Professional Opinion
  • Future Recommendations

WHAT IS THE EVALUATION PROCESS?

I will collaborate with your immigration attorney before we meet.

I will spend 1.5 to 2 hours interviewing you, spread over two separate sessions.

Due to COVID-19, all evaluations are conducted via a HIPAA compliant video platform. I also offer evening appointments making my services convenient and accessible to you.

WHAT ARE THE FEES?

Standard Evaluation:  $900.00
(50 % of fee is due at first meeting)

The evaluations will be completed 4 weeks after the 2nd meeting.
Additional fees will be included if you need the evaluation completed sooner.
